Valentine's Weekend in London

Valentine's Weekend in London

Valentine's weekend can be a tragic affair when you're a single gal. So to save myself from a fate of drinking wine alone, watching Bridget Jones and Sex & the City on repeat and oogling the "hot dudes with kittens" insta account, I decided to go to London for the weekend to catchup with the girls. Holla at me GALENTINES! πŸ·πŸ’ƒπŸΌ For lack of a hunky man on my arm, Friday night was spent being wined and dined by my sister, having a much needed catchup and a giggle.

Saturday was spent roaming around Borough Market, catching up with my old uni housemate over delicious hot choccy and Wagamamas, followed by a spot of retail therapy on Oxford Street.

I was holding back going absolutely wild and buying the whole of Topshop, man it was TOUGH. I finally cracked in Miss Selfridge as my window shopping went outta the window!  I found a gorgeous cut-out bodice and a sensational jumpsuit. It's a yearly tradition of mine to buy myself gifts on Valentine's Day. Because let's face it, if no one else is gonna spoil you then you might as well TREAT YOSELF GIRLFRIEND!

I headed back to my sister's to get glammed up for a night out on the tiles in Shoreditch with my uni pals and their French friends. It was so good to speak un peu de franΓ§ais after 6 months without barely muttering a "bonjour" - oh how I miss my degree days!

The prosecco was flowing in Barrio East before May and I headed to The Queen of Hoxton to meet up with my sister. I LOVE GIRLS NIGHTS OUT! Despite queueing for what felt like an eternity, we finally got into the Queen of Hox which boasted amazing 99's R&B tunes.

I woke up on Sunday feeling a little worse for wear but soon perked up as I headed to the National Portrait Gallery for the 100 years of Vogue photography exhibition. Who needs a Valentine when you have Vogue!? It was so amazing though sadly we weren't allowed to take photos so go and check it out while you can!

One of my highlights from the weekend was visiting the Lights of Soho light gallery. Check out a few of these awesome snaps (I'm gonna do a blog about this as there's simply too many beautiful shots to include in this post!)

A walk around the park with this gal was a hoot. This year's Valentine's motto? "I don't want any random penis". πŸ˜‚ Amen to that. Valentine's is best spent with your loved ones, and with no boys on the horizon don't go pining for Netflix & Chill sessions with any old dude. Simply call up your gal pals and go and have FUN!

So, you'll find no sad singletons here, just lots of Vogue lovin', neon appreciatin', prosecco drinking party gals...

Thanks for reading lovelies - don't forget to give PrettyDaring a follow for more fashion & beauty updates!
