Do more of what you love: drawing

Do more of what you love: drawing

Sometimes we all forget to make time for our passions.  For me, it's drawing. There's no other feeling than plugging myself into my iPod, and creating something from nothing. But it takes time. And all too often I feel like I just don't have enough time in the day to do it.

The problem is, it's far too easy to be wasteful with our time.

That hour or two spent scrolling mindlessly through Facebook or Instagram every night could be spent drawing, reading or writing (in my case anyway).

So, this Winter, I've decided to make a conscious effort to dedicate some quality time to doing more of what I love - putting down my phone and picking up a pen.

Drawing not only helps me to relax, but it helps me to focus solely on the task at hand without distraction and ignites that creative spark which I then bring into my everyday life, through writing, fashion and blogging. It helps me to stop, look and really see, rather than scroll past a face on a screen without paying much attention.

I think we could all benefit by doing more of what we love - by recognising the everyday distractions which can hold us back and prevent us from being passionate in everyday life. Refresh and inspire yourself and give yourself some respite from screen time now and again. You may just develop an amazing skill!

Here's a few of my favourite drawings from this year - time spent at home, on trains and when I'm waiting for friends out and about. I hope you like them!

I hope this post inspires you to have a think about a passion you could make more time for!
