My Fitness Journey - Updates
2016 has started with a bang - *OOOSH*. One of my resolutions this year was to hit the gym more and get in the best shape I possibly can be. I've always been a lover of healthy eating and over the last few years have upped my gym game with the goal of getting in great shape. I'm a woman on the quest for abs. None of this detox tea, Juiceplus bullshit though - just good, nutritious food, the right knowledge and bloody hard work at the gym.
Not only does exercise give my skin a healthy, radiant glow but it also helps me to feel motivated and self-confident in many facets of my life. Whilst I'm no stranger to HIIT training, rowing and yoga in the gym, I recently decided to try my hand at something more challenging and am going to be running the Bath Half Marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Running - I've always hated it, I've always been the girl to turn BEETROOT red and struggle to go long distance with my stumpy, 5"2 legs. But this year, I'm determined to set myself some SERIOUS goals, and so far so good!
With two months to train until the race on March 13th, I've been changing up my workouts to incorporate more runs, both on the treadmill and on the road, and recently managed to run over 12km. WOWEE. I am SO proud of myself and feel really inspired to pass on these motivational vibes to all of you! All of this running means that's I've already gone down a bra size (*sobs* - hello flat pancakes...), and haven't had quite as much time to do weights training and build the BOOTAY, however I'm still keeping up the yoga sessions now and then to help my aching muscles recover and am feeling really lean at the moment.
