OOTD Pinafores & mustard knits.
Bonsoir tout le monde, hope you're all having a looovely weekend so far! Tonight's look is a cool OOTD which is très facile to recreate on a budget! Pinafores are all the rage at the moment. This black denim number from New Look is an affordable, good quality option at under £25.00, with thick black denim and adjustable straps. ( Similar here )
The key to rocking the pinafore dress is to find a style that sits neatly above the knee for the ultimate "mod girl" 60's look. The asymmetrical cut of the dress will make your pins look slender and longer, providing that you find the a length that sits above the knee. Choosing an option with adjustable straps allows you to ensure that the dress doesn't sit too low and swamp you.
The blunt, asymmetric cut looks super slick when paired with tights and chunky, kick-ass boots. My boots were from the New Look sake for only £9.99!!!
This outfit is kinda like Wednesday Adams meets geek chic. This knitted jumper is an ASOS petite piece which I picked up in their winter sale a couple of years back. Mustard yellow is not a colour I would usually reach for, but I think it really works here, especially when paired with an ombré purple matte lip.
The scrunchie is a nod to the 90's era, and the black velvet looks great against the vibrant lip. I simply blended these two Sleek matte lipsticks to create the ombré effect, putting the lighter colour in the centre of the lips and lining my lips with a faint black kohl pencil before thoroughly blending. A gold smokey eye is a pretty addition to this makeup look, and the brown eyeliner pencil is a softer take on black, so as not to detract from the eyecatching lipstick.
