Flower Power: Statement Crown
With Spring just around the corner it's time to ditch the Winter hats and get accessorising with pretty, floral crowns. Wearing such a statement piece can be scary for some, but with the right outfit and hair this look will have you sassing around like a festival-ready boho babe. So my advice? Dare to wear!
I picked up this ribbon tied floral crown from Etsy for £11 from the VintageDivinitiess shop. You can wear it as a floral crown or a cute flower bun wrap! I prefer this ribbon tied design to elastic, because it's much more comfortable to wear - there's nothing worse than a crown which starts to give you a headache halfway through the day, so sticking to ribbon ties is the best bet in my opinion.
I decided to pair it with a cute lace bralet from Urban Outfitters (£22) layered up with a beige Topshop minidress with silvery threads running through it.
You can see the design detailing of the lace bralet thanks to the scooped back cut of the dress which is a really nice touch.
I stuck to a soft, muted pastel colour palette as the crown is eye catching enough as it is without too much clashing colour working against it. The outfit looks really feminine and pretty overall with that dramatic accessory for the ultimate impact. Perfect for Spring/Summer 2016!
I slept with my hair in two French plaits to create loose, mermaid waves and I kept my makeup very simple and light on the eyes with pink, champagne hues to make my eyes pop. A light dusting of Bourjois blusher gave me a rosy glow and with Topshop's Innocent on my lips I was good to go!
Throw on an oversized light denim jacket and some vintage brogues to complete the look.
