Today's look is daring to say the least. Principally down to the intense shade of lippy, but also because I somehow managed to pull off a hairstyle that I never thought I could, not to mention the fact that I went braless on a VERY cold day.

Makeup:The lipstick in question is NYX's soft matte lip cream in shade Transylvania, a deep purple/almost black when it is layered upon the lips. The pigmentation is tout simplement fantastique. It's easy to shy away from darker tones for fear of being washed out, but with a crafty bit of contouring from my Laura Mercier palette and some golden brown eyeshadow's from Bourjois's smoky stories quad palette in shade 06 Upside brown, I looked less zombie bride and more edgy goth.

Hair:So let's talk hair. Oui, je sais I succumbed to the Miley Cyrus barnet. It took a little bit of practise but I think I've finally got it down. I find that scrunchies help to create volume and prevent my teeny tiny buns from looking too pathetic. This updo looks awesome with ombré - rock those dark, grungy roots for all they're worth. Hairpray and a slick, straight parting is key here - banish those flyaways and ensure the look is sleek and chic.

My white polo-neck top is from ASOS and cost me £8. It was a total bargain as i've worn it to death and it's a great day-to-night piece. The blue velvet skirt was a recent Topshop purchase costing £42. The material definitely gives this look a bit of class and the a-symmetrical scalloped hem is a pretty, girly detail amongst some harsher elements of the outfit.

My denim jacket was a Paris (year abroad) purchase in Le Marais, it's super oversized and screams effortless grunge - a great piece to layer up crop tops with. My Vagabond-style boots are from New Look. They're super comfy and cost me £9.99 in the sale. BARGAIN!

Accessories:

The black bag with silver buckle detailing is a dreamy hand-me-down from my sister. The way the straps are designed mean that you can either wear it as a rucksack or simply as a shoulder bag.Jewellery is a bit mix and match - my spikes ear-cuff is a Topshop piece and my other earring is courtesy of la boite à bijoux de maman. I got my BCR nose ring from a tattoo & piercing parlour in New Cross, LDN.

J'espére que vous aimez bien mon look du jour. Don't forget to subscribe to PrettyDaring, give this post a like and check out my Insta and all that good stuff.

Bisous,
