Winter OOTD with an edge
Brrrr it's cold outside! So grab a mug of hot chocolate, snuggle up on the sofa and have a gander at today's outfit of the day.
Looking out the window this morning to a thick layer of frost on the car, I knew it was time to reach for my cosy fur hat and studded leather gloves. Who says you have to look like a dork when the chilly weather hits? It's prime time to style your outfit up with some cool accessories.
I dived headfirst into a huge box of hats in a vintage shop in Le Marais whilst I was in Paris and found this one buried right at the bottom. I joke that it makes me look like a mushroom head but love it all the same because it's extremely warm and looks great with a pair of Timberland boots or chunky creepers, like my Leopard print Underground shoes.
My studded leather gloves were a few euros in the sale from H&M. I've always gotten compliments on them and they look really stylish when paired with the right outfit. I also tend to wear them if I'm walking around the city at night... ain't nobody gonna mess with metal studded gloves!
I paired my punchy accessories with a chic cream and black outfit. These high waisted skinny Joni jeans are from Topshop and cost me £36.00. They are an amazing fit and so comfy - definitely a versatile wardrobe staple.
I never like to feel too swamped with winter layers so to avoid looking like the michelin man I found a snug alternative to a scarf in the form of my cream turtle neck from Urban Outfitters. My oversized denim jacket is a nice alternative to a winter coat and gives a Hipster-ish edge to the classic under-layers.
The lightwash blue denim of the jacket brings out my blue eyes. A rose gold smokey eye and a nude lip looks really pretty with the colour palette of the outfit, I used my ever-so-dreamy Naked Palette 3 with a soft bronze kohl eyeliner in shade 28 by Barry M. Deep black eyeliner can sometimes wash me out so I find a brown is nice alternative for a more subtle smokey eye. I'm still loving the Loréal Paris False Lash Telescopic mascara which as you can see gives me the most fluttery of lashes!
I hope you enjoyed this outfit of the day - thanks for reading!
