Sleek Makeup Haul & Unboxing
Bonsoir les filles - happy Wednesday evening to you all! Tonight I'm excited because a rather magnificent parcel arrived in the post containing lots of new makeup goodies! So feast your eyes over a few of the bargains I picked up from Sleek! Ooooooh it's like Christmas all over again. 😄 I was casually perusing Instagram last week and saw a photo of the solstice palette which looked divine. After finding out it was only £10, like a woman possessed, I raced onto the Sleek website and popped one in my basket asap rocky. But can I only ever buy just ONE thing? Of course not! With weak self restraint and dangerous intrigue I start having a casual browse around the site... And before I knew it I had bought myself a whole haul's worth of products. Je regrette rien!
Look at how pretty it is! 😱😍 These highlighter shades are quite unusual so I can't wait to try them out. The palette itself has a large mirror and shiny gold packaging which clips shut with a magnet. The shades inside from top to bottom, left to right are: Ecliptic, Hemisphere, Subsolar and Equinox. As you can see by the photo, Equinox is a cream whilst the other three shades are powders. the palette itself is just so pretty that part of me wants to keep it pristine! I'm just so amazed that this costs only £10. *girls all over the world rejoice*
I got a little highlighter happy... But it's ok. I can justify a two palette purchase if one is mostly powders and one is mostly creams, right?
The Precious Metals palette has three cream formulas and one powder, from top to bottom, left to right: Platinum, Royal Gold, Renaissance Gold and Antique Bronze. I think these golden tones would look beautiful with a tan and the pearly Platinum shade will be a really pretty brow arch highlight. Here's hoping that I'll be one sunkissed sista after using this bad boy! Again, I'm still stunned that you can get four gorgeous shades for just £10!
Because a gal can never have too many matte red lipsticks, I decided to add this gloriously rich shade to my collection. I can't wait to try it out as I'm already a huge fan of the shades Exxxagerate and Mystic from the matte range, due to their high pigmentation and long-lasting wear, even more so these lippies all cost £4.99. The shade looks a little deeper in natural light compared to this photo. As we're now fully into Spring I thought some peachy cream blushes would go down a treat on my cheeks. I can't wait to try these and hope they give a really radiant, warm glow. The shades from left to right are: Newport Peach, The Surf and OC. Again at £10 this palette was a bargain. I'm typically a huge fan of liquid lipsticks and wanted to add a bright fuscia-purpley shade to my collection for summer. I'm eager to see how this Sleek matte me colour compares with the likes of my beloved NYX soft matte lip creams and my Bourjois Rouge Edition velvet shades - as they've both set the bar extremely high.
The colour looks a little more plummy than I was anticipating but we'll see how we go. First impressions are that the applicator wand is ridiculously long! If the BFG were in want of a liquid lipstick, then this would be the product for him! 😂 For £4.99 the price point is great so I'll see how I fare with it. I'm sure I'll be featuring lots of these lovely new products in my upcoming makeup looks, and i'll let you know how I get on with them so stay tuned for reviews.
