Christmas Day Makeup & OOTD
I love to dress up and look a little glam on Christmas Day. I can lounge around in my pjs any old time so when Christmas is around the corner I'm always on the lookout for some outfit pazazz. This year I found myself trawling through all of the Topshop gold dresses in search of a bit of sparkle and much to my joy I found the perfect bodycon... Très chic, n'est-ce pas!?
I bought it for £41 full price but of course a mere seven days later it's now in the sale for £25!! (Dang it!) I particularly love the high neck design.
Paired with a red lip - Mac's lipliner in High Energy topped up with NYX's soft matte lip cream in Monte Carlo (utterly DIVINE shade) - my sassy red office heels and red nails (Barry M's gelly high-shine nail polish in Blood Orange), the outfit had me feeling fabulous on one of my favourite days of the year!
I have to admit that the heels were quickly replaced with comfy, cosy bedsocks because I was far too excited to survive on multiple glasses of bubbly in six inch heels... 🍾🎉
I backcombed my roots and curled my hair with my curling wand, before brushing through the ringlets to create a soft, volumous look, spritzing on some John Frieda sheer blonde hairspray (a firm favourite of mine) to set the curls.
Letting the lipstick do the talking, I decided to opt for a soft, smokey eye. Using my Naked 3 Urban Decay palette and a brown kohl eyeliner pencil by the Body Shop to give soft definition around the lashline. I finished the look with lashings of the Loréal false lash Telescopic mascara in Magnetic Black. Foundation used for this look is Bourjois's Healthy Mix in no.51 Light Vanilla and the soft contour was created using my Laura Mercier palette. Brows were defined using my Soap & Glory Archery brow kit (I'm currently obsessed with this and use it every day). 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Here's a snap of where I contour: upper forehead, side of the nose, tip of the nose, cheeks and under the jawline. My highlight flitters from Nars to The Collection - (see my previous Laura Mercier contour review for more info). Here's what the contour and highlight looks like buffed in with my Real Techniques sponge:
Et voilà I have cheekbones! All hail the contour 🙌🏻
